Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol thinks Jack Grealish should join Man Utd over Arsenal as a move to the Emirates “doesn’t make any sense”.
The Aston Villa captain has been in brilliant form this season, scoring five goals and assisting another five in just nine Premier League appearances this term.
His recent caps for England have further boosted his profile and there are rumours that Villa will now demand in excess of £100m for his services.

And Nicol reckons Grealish “is made” for Man Utd and that Old Trafford club could afford the huge fee.
“Manchester United lack consistency and they need to get players, who are not only consistent, but consistent at really high level that will take a club like Manchester United back to where they think they belong, which is fighting for Premier Leagues and fighting for European trophies,” Nicol told ESPN.
“Jack Grealish can do that. I think absolutely Manchester United are crying out for a Jack Grealish, a guy who keeps the ball, a guy who will do his bit defensively.
“We talk about [Paul] Pogba at United, not been able to defend. Jack Grealish does everything. He goes forward and he goes backwards and he has class and he has control. So, I think Jack Grealish is made for Manchester United.”
On rumours that Arsenal are interested in Grealish, Nicol added: “I’m not sure where Arsenal are going. They’ve been pretty stagnant for five or six years now.
“If I’m Jack Grealish and I’m class every time I step on the field, I want to go somewhere who is either at the top or a club who can get to the top again.
“I would suggest Man United, with the money they have, they can buy their way back to the top. If I’m Jack Grealish, I’m looking at Manchester United before Arsenal.
“Arsenal are going the wrong way. Grealish is going upwards and Arsenal are going downwards. It doesn’t make any sense professionally for him to go to Arsenal.”
