No Need To Overhype And Politicise Surgical Strikes, Says Officer Who Oversaw 2016 Operation

Nearly two years after the cross-border surgical strikes inside Pakistan Occupied Kashmir(PoK), Lt. Gen. (retd) D S Hooda, the Northern Army commander, who oversaw the operation has said that the constant hype around the operation was unwarranted.

Speaking at a discussion on the ‘Role of Cross-Border Operations and Surgical Strikes’ at the ongoing Military Literature Festival, Lt. Gen. Hooda said it was natural to have an initial euphoria over the success but the constant maintenance of hype around the military operations was unwarranted.
