As previously reported, Rhea Ripley defeated Toni Storm in the finals of a two-day tournament this weekend to become the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion.
Both Triple H and British wrestling legend Johnny Saint were on-hand at the Insomnia Gaming Convention in Birmingham to award Ripley with the brand new title belt immediately after her victory.
Several live reports from Sunday’s taping event have noted that Toni Storm may have suffered an injury during the main event. One reader informed us directly that their match ended abruptly, that Rhea got a win rather suddenly, and that the referee threw up the “X” symbol after checking on Storm.
Several have speculated that this may actually be a part of an angle and that Storm is not legitimately injured. We have reached out to WWE for comment and will report back as soon as we know more information.
